Urgent Request: Flooding Continues as San Diego Braces for More Winter Storms

September 20, 2024
Back to Stories

Greater Good Charities’ Disaster Response Team is actively responding to the need in San Diego. The city is recovering from a severe winter storm that caused disastrous flooding and a state of emergency. Many residents are warned to evacuate for more storms anticipated this week.

Wind gusts will reach 40-50 mph along the coast, peaking around 45 mph inland. A flood watch has been issued for the entire county, with rain totals potentially reaching three inches. Rainfall and flooding are also causing landslides, road closures, and dangerous traveling conditions.

The Greater Good Charities’ Disaster Response Team is in San Diego, assessing the situation and providing emergency pet food supplies to the community alongside our partner, San Diego Humane.

We urgently need your support to provide much-needed supplies, such as pet food, to the families and their pets impacted by these harsh winter storms.

Please rush aid so that we can provide food to pets in need as San Diego continues to be battered by unprecedented winter storms.
